Dates fill up quickly.
Let’s be honest… graduation day still feels like it is so far away. Five months. That’s it. Five more months. And if you have a college senior you can take one month away from that equation! I will stop shooting at the beginning of May to spend time with my own high school senior, and to make sure my clients are well served with their product orders and getting those images back in time to use them for grad cards and graduation displays.
Include your spring sports
Do you have a spring athlete? Baseball or softball player? Golfer? Soccer or lacrosse? Track? All of these are great things to add into their senior portrait session. If your senior is an athlete, it’s part of who they are, and it’s important to include that in their session!
Spring foliage
Here in NC, spring starts showing off her beautiful colors in March! The redbuds and cherry trees put on a magnificent display. I will surely seek out those gorgeous trees and tuck your girl in them if that’s her thing. We have the privilege of using a local farm that plants thousands of tulips. In April, the azaleas burst into color. And in May, there’s another farm that has acres of poppies and larkspur.
Even if you aren’t a flowery person there’s plenty of locations that we can select for beautiful portraits!
Pleasant weather
Y’all… summer in NC gets HOT! And humid. Capitalize on those pleasant spring days with a low humidity day (Think no big, frizzy hair). And who knows… we may even be able to have some great natural hair blowing with the spring breezes too!
Show off your college decision
National college decision day is May 1, but many seniors have already made their college choice far before that date arrives. Why not include that decision in their senior pictures? Oh, and by the way… it’s a great thing to put on the graduation announcement to share with all your friends and family what your senior’s plans will be for next year!
Cap and Gown
Spring sessions have the fortunate ability to include a cap and gown in some images! Depending on the school, these typically are handed out sometime around the end of April. They may not have all of their earned cords but these can be borrowed from a former senior or wink, wink… order from Amazon. Yep, you can get cords from Amazon!
