The Free to be ME project
What if we could change the trajectory of how tweens see themselves before heading off to high school? What if we could showcase their unique qualities and give them the unshakable confidence to stand out and just be themselves?
I remember being a tween. I remember it well because it pretty much sucked. We moved to a new state in the middle of my 6th grade year. I was uprooted from my friends, my activities, everything that was safe. My mom remarried which went right along with my step-dad's job transfer. Whew. That was a lot to take in all of a sudden. (Thank goodness my step dad was pretty cool!) Add to the mix a gawky 11 year old wearing extra large glasses, sporting a new set of metal on her teeth, thinking the short feathered hair was awesome, and not having the right clothing to fit into the uppity new community were now in. I pretty much was an awkward mess. Yes, I remember it well. Oh yeah, we had to move AGAIN six months later. Tweendom was not so fun for this chic!
Thank goodness tweens these days seem to be a little more hip than I was - but that's just what's on the outside. I know the struggle is real for these 10-13 year olds. I am making it my personal mission to capture these tweens just as they are right now. In all their awkward beauty. To make them look and feel awesome and have unshakable confidence in themselves during these trying years. What if together we had the power to do just that?
So, how am I doing this?
With the "Free to be ME" project.
I am starting this project to fill in the minimally photographed years while enriching the lives of pre teens. My goal is to make them feel empowered, beautiful, and confident just as they are. What if working together we could do just that?
Who is this for?
I'm looking for girls and boys between the ages of 10-13 to photograph for this project. I will spend an hour or so photographing them in their environment - either at home- or a location special to them. I want them to include something special to them, or something they feel passionate about. Prior to the session, I will ask the child and their parents a few questions, and then combine images and phrases into an impactful piece of art. The final presentation is a surprise to both the tween and her family.
Doing this is important to me since my kiddos have just passed this vulnerable age. For a limited time I'm offering this session for only $200 but all that goes back into a special product just for your tween because that's how much I believe in this!
How to participate or nominate a tween you know:
The session itself is $200, but it all goes back into product credit, which can be used towards an album, wall art, or a fine art print. (Mounted prints start at $60, product collections start at $590)
My goal is to create a gorgeous group a photos that truly showcases your tween's spirit.
Complete the contact form below if you are interested in having your child participate in this project.
After you contact me, I will send you specific details to help you decide if this project is perfect for your tween.
I look forward to hearing from you!
