Personalized senior portraits in High Point, NC
When it comes to senior portraits, you want a photographer that will capture your child in the moment just as he or she is! During our consultation we talk about ALL the things that make your senior unique.
Connor's consultation was no different. He walked into my living room wearing his pink crocs, a backwards baseball hat and gnawing on a toothpick. From all I've learned about him since our session, this was one hundred percent him. I told his mom we would most definitely capture a few shots with that backwards hat and toothpick. She kinda looked at me like I was crazy, but it ended up being one of her favorite images from the shoot. My only regret was not including those pink crocs as well!

Connor wasn't into an urban vibe at all when it came to location choices. He wanted somewhere he could showcase his 1980 Ford F150 truck, and his most favorite furbaby, Shadow.
I take pride in knowing lots of locations in our area to take my clients. In fact, that should be your photographer's job - helping you decide on locations best fit for the vibe you are wanting in your portraits.
When I am not behind the camera or working with clients, some of my time is spent scouting locations. I want to know how the lighting is at different times of the day, and different ties of the year. If the location is public, it can change drastically from one session to the next!
Connor shared that he liked the outdoors, a wooded area, and maybe a rustic barn, I knew exactly where to go!

Connor's final thought with showcasing who he was included some soccer images. He is a goalie for his high school team. Connor didn't want to be in full gear for these images, so we blended his laid back vibe with his athletic prowess.
Unfortunately, on the night of his session, the weather decided to provide a little liquid sunshine, so we resumed the last part of his session the following morning at some local soccer fields.
I'm so thankful for clients with flexibility especially when the weather becomes unpredictable. Connor was such a trooper to meet me at 8:00 a.m. the following morning. And with his hat on, it didn't matter that he just rolled out of bed to complete his session.
When should you schedule senior pictures in NC?
This is a question I get asked often. Connor's senior session took place at the end of August. While August can be hot and sticky, some schools ask for a yearbook photo to be submitted by the beginning of October. If you are a junior, and this is a requirement for your high school, you'll want to start seeing out a photographer no later than the spring of your junior year. Most sought after photographers will have their calendars fill by late summer for the fall season.
I would love to capture your senior pictures and personalize an amazing senior portrait experience! If you are currently a senior and still need senior portraits NOW is the time to get on my spring schedule. Use the button below to explore what working with me is like, and book your consult today!
